Getting the word out about your customers auction listing is the single most important function of an auction site.
If people do not know your sellers item exists, and or your site, then that sellers item is not going to be sold, and
soon, that seller will no longer be listing on your non-performing auction site. Its as simple as that.
Each time a new item is listed on your site, at the time of listing, an automatic XML RPC PING will be sent out to the ping
services of your choice. Services such as Yahoo, Google, MSN, Altavista, Ping Goat, Pingomatic .... etc.
In doing so,
that sellers item will be listed on those aggregate feeds, and the search engines will pick up that listing, the sellers own
personal RSS Feed listing, and your sites listings, the same day. In many cases, within the same hour!
If you have to pick the single most important mod to have for your site, this is it.
